Muddy River Sport covers high school and college athletics across Galesburg, Monmouth, Knox County and the surrounding communities of west-central Illinois. Our mission is simple: make sure every local game, every local athlete and every local result has a place to be found.
Local sports coverage has thinned out across the region as newspapers have consolidated. We exist to fill that gap — publishing scores, recaps, schedules and features for the teams that matter to this community, every day they play.
What we cover
High schools: Galesburg Silver Streaks, Monmouth-Roseville Titans, United Red Storm, Knoxville Blue Bullets, ROWVA Cougars, Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes, West Central Heat, Bushnell-Prairie City and more.
Colleges: Knox College Prairie Fire, Monmouth College Fighting Scots and Carl Sandburg College Chargers.
Sports: Football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, cross country, track and field, golf, tennis and everything in between — boys and girls, all seasons.
