Galesburg-area high school wrestling

Wrestling fills the winter across the Galesburg area, from dual meets and weekend tournaments to the IHSA individual and team state series.

How the season works

The season runs from November through February. Wrestlers chase individual state berths through regional and sectional tournaments, while teams compete in a separate dual-team state series — two paths to a state trophy.

The local teams

The Galesburg Silver Streaks lead the area in the Western Big 6 Conference, with Lincoln Trail Conference schools — Knoxville, ROWVA, United, West Central and Abingdon-Avon — and Monmouth-Roseville rounding out the local field. Muddy River Sport covers every area program.
