Galesburg-area high school track and field

Track and field takes over each spring across the Galesburg area, building through invitationals and conference meets toward the IHSA state finals.

How the season works

The outdoor season runs from March into late May, with athletes qualifying through the IHSA sectional to reach the state finals. Events span sprints, distance, relays, hurdles, jumps and throws.

The local teams

The Galesburg Silver Streaks lead the area in the Western Big 6 Conference, with Lincoln Trail Conference schools — Knoxville, ROWVA, United, West Central and Abingdon-Avon — and Monmouth-Roseville rounding out the local field. Muddy River Sport covers every area program.
