Galesburg-area high school baseball
Baseball is a spring staple across the Galesburg, Monmouth and Knox County area, played from March into early summer at schools large and small.
How the season works
The high school season opens in March, weather permitting, and runs through conference play in April and May before the IHSA regional, sectional, super-sectional and state finals in late May and June, bracketed by enrollment class.
The local teams
The Galesburg Silver Streaks compete in the Western Big 6 Conference, while Lincoln Trail Conference programs — Knoxville, ROWVA, United, West Central and Abingdon-Avon — and Monmouth-Roseville in the West Central Conference round out the area. Knox and Monmouth colleges add a college level in the Midwest Conference.
