Galesburg-area high school softball

Softball runs alongside baseball each spring across the Galesburg area, from March through the IHSA state series in June.

How the season works

Teams open in March and play through April and May, with conference titles decided before the IHSA regional, sectional, super-sectional and state finals in late May and June.

The local teams

The Galesburg Silver Streaks compete in the Western Big 6 Conference, while Lincoln Trail Conference programs — Knoxville, ROWVA, United, West Central and Abingdon-Avon — and Monmouth-Roseville in the West Central Conference round out the area. Knox and Monmouth colleges add a college level in the Midwest Conference.
