Galesburg-area high school soccer: boys and girls
Soccer has a full calendar across the Galesburg area. Under IHSA scheduling, boys soccer is played in the fall and girls soccer in the spring, so the sport spans much of the school year.
How the seasons work
Boys teams play from August into the fall postseason, while girls teams take the pitch in the spring. Both build toward the IHSA regional, sectional and state series in their respective seasons.
The local teams
The Galesburg Silver Streaks compete in the Western Big 6 Conference, while Lincoln Trail Conference programs — Knoxville, ROWVA, United, West Central and Abingdon-Avon — and Monmouth-Roseville in the West Central Conference round out the area. Knox and Monmouth colleges add a college level in the Midwest Conference.
